The Form: Complete the Eagle Scout Rank Application electronically. Your Unit Advancement Chair can provide you a partially filled in version from Scoutbook, or you can download a blank form.
Requirement 6: Write a one-page essay on your life goals, ambitions, and how you will give back to Scouting.
References: List six references (five if not employed). If you have no organized religion, a parent or guardian acts as that reference.
Scoutmaster Conference: This must be held before your 18th birthday!
Please Note: Your scoutmaster conference should include reviewing all of the paperwork required in the council submission step below. Ensure all the paperwork is compeltely filled out and all signatures have been obtained.
Longhorn Council Meeting: Schedule an appointment with the Longhorn Council Registrar at the Council Advancement Office (662advancements@bsamail.org) to review your paperwork. You will need to provide the following:
Eagle Scout Rank Application - Signed by Scoutmaster & Committee Chair
Detailed Individual History Report (IHR) - Signed by Unit Advancement Chair
Requirement 6 Essay - One page, reviewed by an English teacher
Project Workbook - Fully filled out with all signatures
Once the Council has approved your application you may move onto scheduling your Board of Review.
Scheduling the BOR: Email advancement@trinitytrails.net with a scan of both pages of your signed Rank Application to request a date.
Letters of Recommendation: Eagle Scout Requirement 2 requires character references be listed on the Eagle Rank Application form. Please help validate your references by asking the people whom you listed to write letters of recommendation (LOR) on your behalf. Please don't ask your parents to write a LOR. Your character references may submit their LOR in one of two ways:
Send it via email to advancement@trinitytrails.net
Send it to you in a sealed envelope; you, in turn, will bring it to your Eagle Board of Review.
NOTE: You do not have to collect the recommendations; we just ask you to request them.
The Big Day: BORs are typically held on the fourth Thursday of the month. Bring your workbook (Pages B and C), your Requirement 6 essay, any LORs you received, and your signed Individual History Report (IHR).
